Empty Drum Recycling Program
SMIW Co. has instituted a recycling program for the empty steel and plastic drums. Empty steel/plastic drums are washed by high pressure water jets in a drum washing area.
Any oil is removed from the wash water, and the wash water is chemically treated/neutralized as required, and discharged into evaporation ponds.
The cleaned steel drums are then crushed/pressed if required, in a drum crusher/metal press and sold to scrap dealers for further recycling.
